Live Dead - Arab World with Brandon
Hey CCF family! If we haven't met yet, my name is Brandon, and I am super excited to be leading our Virtual Mission trip to the Arab World this Spring Break! Our King, Jesus, cares deeply for people of all countries and all cultures, and especially for people currently unreached by the Gospel. As followers of Him, and citizens of His kingdom, we should have that exact same heart. So for this trip, we are teaming up with Live Dead, an international missions group currently seeking, feeding, and fighting for the 361 unreached people groups of the Arab world!
Now You may be thinking: “Brandon, what exactly does a “Virtual Mission trip” to the Arab World look like?” Well, while we can’t go there in-person this Spring break, there are four parts of mission work we will experience on this virtual trip:
Number one is Abiding. Abiding in Jesus is the foundation of everything we do, so every morning we will gather together as a team to dig into the Word, pray, and worship!
The second component is Experience. We want to give you a small taste of various parts of life and culture in the Arab world. This looks like cooking some local dishes together, engaging in daily challenges such as brushing our teeth with bottled water, turning off the A/C etc. We’ll even go on a virtual prayer walk of the region and study the Arabic language!
The third component is Education. Jesus has called each of us to be missionaries to the people around us, and beyond. But how do we do that? Sound missiology, or the study of missions, is vital to following and fulfilling the Great Commission. During this trip, we’ll study some of the foundational building blocks to productive and inspired missionary work.
And the last component is Engagement. Though we are thousands of miles away, we will have deep engagement with our Live Dead church planting team during this trip, fostering long-term relationships. Our primary mechanism will be through a group text (WhatsApp) and daily zoom calls.
Jesus is building a kingdom, and EVERYONE's invited. But how will the unreached people in our world believe in someone of whom they haven’t heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Come join me as we support the Live Dead (Arab World) team in their mission of bringing the Good News to the lost people of the Arab World!
Meeting Time: Our trip activities are scheduled between 6am - 1pm Mon-Fri (with a few outliers), but other than the required 12pm Zoom call with our missionaries and a few specific group bonding activities, most of the trip activities/assignments can be mapped onto your own personal schedule.
